WALL CAVITY DEPTH BASED ON OPTIONS.

With Thin Wall Hood
Thin wall hood allows for 100mm of the tube to sit within – this means there is a larger protrusion from the external wall.
Heating and cooling systems use a lot of energy, particularly in older buildings. This is in part because of air leaking from the building via traditional ventilation sources, like vents. Vents and windows allow fresh air to flow freely in and out of the building, but do nothing to regulate the temperature indoors. If you’re using a heater, a vent will allow warm air to escape as easily as it allows fresh air to come in. You might find that to stay warm, you need to run your heater at a higher setting or for a longer period of time. This uses more energy and costs you more money.
Newer builds are designed to minimise air leakage, but of course they still need ventilation. One option for air tight buildings is to incorporate a heat recovery system, which give you the best of both worlds. By using this type of system, you can maintain both temperature and a healthy, comfortable indoor environment.
How does decentralised heat recovery work?
A decentralised heat recovery system consists of at least one heat recovery unit, typically installed on an external wall. The unit operates in cycles. First, it extracts air through the wall for 70 seconds before switching to an intake mode. On each extraction cycle, the unit retains heat from the outgoing air stream. When it switches to an intake cycle, the heat is transferred to the incoming air.
Why choose the Fanco Habitat Expert with Wifi?
The Fanco Habitat Expert with Wifi features a high-quality ceramic accumulator which retains up to 95 % of heat energy. A single unit can operate as a complete system, which does not need to be hardwired to a wall control. Instead, the unit is operated by your choice of a smartphone, a handy remote-control handset or by the control panel on the unit.
Using Wi-Fi technology, it’s also possible to connect multiple Fanco Habitat Experts together, which will can be operated by a master unit. You can also choose to operate a system of Habitat Experts connected by Wi-Fi using either the remote or the compatible smart phone app.
The app allows you to control up to 7 units from your phone, however it is possible to connect even more units together using a wireless router. Using this technique, the number of units you can connect together is only limited by the points available on the router.

Retrofitting the Habitat Expert to an Older Property
Heat recovery systems are most effective in airtight spaces, so most older properties will need to be sealed and insulated in order to benefit from heat recovery. However, one of the benefits of a decentralised heat recovery system like the Fanco Habitat Expert with Wifi is that it can operate in a single room. This means that you can seal and insulate a single room or perhaps part of the home and use decentralised heat recovery to save energy.
