our story

1988 – 1992 – Balwyn (Victoria)

Universal Fans is a family business that began in 1988 as a neighbourhood shop in Balwyn, specialising in ceiling fans, owned and run by an electrician and his wife.

1992 – 2014 – East Malvern (Victoria)

Within just a few years, we (George and Corina) moved the business to Waverley Road in East Malvern, where it continued to grow from just us, to a team of 10.

2014 – Present Day – Oakleigh South (Victoria)

In 2014 we move again to cater for our growth to our current premises in South Oakleigh. Here we have a stunning showroom, large warehouse & spacious offices for our wonderful team of 18 led by our two general managers – Julia & Joel.

We operate the only specialist ceiling and exhaust fan store in Victoria, so you know you are in good hands. Our friendly staff are available by phone, email and chat to answer your questions about our products. Every day, we handle questions and queries from retail, trade and wholesale customers, so don’t be shy! Whether you need one fan or 100, our goal is to make sure you find the right product at the right price.

We display over 60 ceiling fans and 50 exhaust fans in our Oakleigh South showroom, and 100s more available through our website. We hold stock on-site at Oakleigh South as well as our second warehouse in Braeside. Having a high volume of product on hand allows us to ensure fast dispatch and delivery to our customers.
